Hosting FAQ
1. I see different GoDaddy hosting plans, but I'm not sure which one to choose?
Any GoDaddy Linux or WordPress hosting plan should work. Windows plans are not compatible.
2. Do I need a SSL Certificate on my Website?
Although the SSL is not mandatory, unless you collect sensitive information (credit card #s, SSN, etc..) directly on your website, it is highly recommended. If your website doesn't have a SSL certificate, it will display a 'Not Secure' in the URL bar and it may have a lower position/rank in the Google searches.
And it is not only for Google, visitors also trust the secure sites.
You can get a SSL for your website from your hosting provider. Most hosting companies will provide it for free with your hosting plan, but with other you may need to buy it.
3. Do you work with any hosting provider and plan?
Some hosting companies like "Weebly", "Squarespace", "VistaPrint", "Wordpress.com" are limited only to online builder/templates and we can't work with these companies. In order to have a full scale, custom website, you will need a hosting provider and plan that supports WordPress.
4. There are different time lengths for which to purchase hosting, from one month and up to 3 years- which period should I choose?
Most hosting providers will give you a big discount when you first sign up for a hosting account. We recommend choosing a longer period, as after that you may need to renew your hosting at a much higher price.
5. I see some "Additional Services" at the hosting sign up page, do I really need these?
The "Additional Services" are not mandatory and you can uncheck them to get the best price. Or you can get just some of them (we recommend "SiteLock", "SSL", "Site BackUp")
